Number 2

Rylee Min Plested finally decided to join us at 1:10pm Dec 27th, three days after her due date.

The second time around reduced our dwell time from "first s
teps into the hospital" to "baby in hand" by about 28hrs so that was all good. However, Mom was a little surprised at her "attention to detail" when it came to pain management in round deux, and was sure to let everyone within ear shot know it...epidural & all. Dr. Lucy made the drastic mistake of encouraging Amy to curse if it made her feel better and I'm certain the poor nurses and midwives thought a group of drunken sailors had instantly entered the room. Potty mouth aside, Amy came through like the trooper she's always been and we had our new baby girl in her arms a mere 15min after Moorea's delivery 4 1/2 years earlier.

Moorea's had a noticeable heightened level of excitement about...well everything s
ince Mom hit the hospital.
She's extremely keen to take on her big sister role but I'm not certain she fully understood that meant sharing attention. So far so good however and we were extremely touched tonight when she drew us the first pictures of our new family with Baby Rylee front and center.

Rylee is amazing. I'm sure every Dad says that but aside from being "gorgeous", she hardly ever cries, eats & poops like a champ (gets that from me) and sleeps like a log and for much longer than we expected (that's from Mom).

Both Mom & Rylee are doing well and Dr. Lucy's given them the green light to come home a day early if they choose so we'll likely see them home tomorrow.

Dad is simply sweating the estrogen overload that's about to occupy the rest of his life...
